Lisa Armitage61 Lyndale streetDaisy Hill,Queensland Australia 4128Hi Mr Henry XieI purchased a electric pressure cooker, model YD500 (10) / YD600 (10) sku 32131 a few months back, from Homeart, Logan hyperdome, Brisbane QLD, Australia.I only use it a 3 times, on the 3rd time, in the evening of Tuesday the 16th of July, I was cooking a lamb stew, with dumplings. I prepared the stock, covered the lamb and place in the dumpling mixture., it was below the marked max limit line.I set it to over 1 hour, I was working around the house, I could hear the steam releasing, in a pulsing pattern. When I could no longer hear the steam release, I went to check on the cooker, the timer still had 5 or so mins to go on it.I noticed no steam was being released. I placed one finger on the steam release valve to release the steam, nothing happened. Then after a minute, one side of the lid lifted and steam, oil came shooting out, it shot up my left arm and over my chest. I unplugged the cooker from the power point, with my right hand.I received 3rd degree burns to my left arm, up to my elbow, and over my entire chest are, a little on my belly.It doused myself in iced water, soaked my arm, and got my son, who was home with me to take me to the me to the medical centre.My father who I am looking after was also home at the time cleaned the mess, or oil and water. The lid to the Pressure cooker was still attached on the right hand side, of the cooker.I was in excruciating pain, I was seen too immediately at the medical centre, which is 10 minutes drive from my home. I was advised I had 3rd degree burns, I was told I did the correct thing in soaking in ice water, which stopped the burning process. The doctor measured the burns, prescribed cream and pain killers, I was not admitted to a hospital, because I promised to return in the morning. On return in the morning, still in a lot of pain, as I did not sleep, the doctor did a burns dressing, prescribed antibiotics and more cream. I was advised to come back daily for burns dressing. I have returned daily for burned dressing, Doctor Rainer has been monitoring the progress, and today 1st August the burns are healing well. About half the size. The process for healing has been as expected, it was extremely painful for the first few day, then uncomfortable since. Loss of sleep and I am unable to do a lot of normal activities. I am not working at the moment, but actively looking for work, which has hindered that.I have had to find money to cover the cost of petrol, driving to the doctors daily, medications and creams on a daily basis and bandaging. This has been a huge trauma and upsetting experience. I have not gone out to do any errands as I was embarrassed and too uncomfortable. TO BE CONTINUED IN NExT MESSAGELISA *_*@********************
