RFQ Description

At a minimum, the mirrors shall meet the following requirements: 1.) Mirrors shall be constructed with a dimension of 4-0 x 4-0(1219.2 x 1219.2). 2.) Mirrors shall be constructed for outdoor use for up to 30 years. 3.) Mirrors may be composed of either two layers of glass with silver in between or a single layer with protective backing material. 4.) Preference will be given to a sandwich construction where two (2) three millimeter (3mm) sheets are used. Other methods of construction may be considered. 4.) Mirrors shall perform with a pointing type average slope error over the entire mirror facet of 1 milliradian or less. 5.) Mirrors shall meet a solar-weighted reflectance requirement of greater than or equal to 93%. 6.) Mirrors shall be capable of being mounted to the existing mirror support structure, including mounting ring and focus plate. 7.) Mirrors shall be capable of bending without breakage to allow for focusing in the field with the existing focus plate. The focus plate will pull the mirror in the center and deflect it up to .25. NOTE: If an adhesive is the proposed method of attachment, the adhesive must have a life of 30 years and be chemically compatible with the metal bracket and the back of the mirror. mirror, solar mirrors
