Akarca Ciftligi Gida Ve Tarim Urunleri Sanayi Ticaret Limited Sirketi
The total area of The Akarca Farm is 2000 hectares ( approx. 4945 acres) where in 500 hectares ( approx. 1235 acres) there is organic olive production. The foundingof the farm where Akarca Farm currently stands, dates back to 1640. It was first passed to the Akarca Farm on 1911 with partial equity and on 1927 for 30,300 Ottoman Gold Lira.Currently it is managed by the fourth generation brothers Omer Faruk Akarca & Onur Akarca thanks to the wisdom of their father Umur Akarca whom passed the reins of the Farm to his sons and now sits in an advisory position. The predominant varietal is "Memecik" type olives which are native to the Milas Region. There are small number of trees from other varietals such as "Gemlik", "Kalamata" and "Domat" to be used as table olives. The olives are hand picked where possible and mechanical shaker rakes are used. The harvested olives are then transported to the pressing mill in plastic crates and pressed within 12 hours of the daily harvest. The mill is likewise has an organic certificate. It is not enough for an olive oil to be deemed organic even though the olives are organic unless it is also pressed in a plant with an organic certificate. In our facility only the Akarca Family olives are pressed and we don't accept petitons from other producers. As of 2017 Akarca Farm as well as the Mill and the bottling plant have TR, EU, NOP and JAS organic certificates. The mill has a centrifugal decanter system. Only cold press is used in productionThe Akarca Family is committed to preserve the olive oil that is harvested, in it's pristine quality and at the flavor at the time that it was pressed. We store olive oil in our temperature controlled storage unit in chrome/steel tanks with air tight nitrogen layered lids.
