The idea of setting up the unit here was due to the fact that Coconut trees were abundantly grown in this region.SMS Exporters is a company specialised in the processing and exporting of eco-friendly Coir Products for sustainable agriculture and industrial usage. The Coir fibre unit, Bharani Fibre Products was started in the year 1979, which was the fifth unit at Pollachi, the Coconut hub of Tamil Nadu. It extended its operations in the name of Super Quality Fibres by producing curled rope from Coir Fibre in 1985. Diversifying its operations, it made its footprint in the poultry sector by establishing SMS Poultry Farms in the year 2004.The firm has set its footprint in all the Products derived out of fresh Coconuts, that includes Natural Coir Fibre, Coir Pith, Coir Yarn, Coir Rope, Coconut Shell based Charcoal and Coconut Shell based Activated Carbon.
