Brampton Pie Company (UK) ltd

The Brampton Pie story began 25 years ago in the tiny kitchen at the back of the Baughen family butchers in the village of Brampton. As a working mum Chris Baughen always tried to make time to give her own children the wonderful food she had enjoyed as child thick stews, toad in the hole, and her mothers huge homemade pies. Once her children had started Junior School Chris soon found herself cooking for half the children in the village with the Baughen girls the most popular kids in the class. It soon became apparent why their mums pies.Times were tough for anyone in business in the 1980s just as they are now but The Baughen Family knew they had an ace up their sleeve. A redundant school cooker was purchased and installed together with one very large saucepan and an industrial sized rolling pin. Christine then set about saving the business. Within just a few months parking became impossible in the village with customers standing in the shop, sitting on hastily provided chairs or waiting in their cars for the next batch of pies to emerge from the oven. The business was saved and went on to win Huntingdonshire Retailer of the Year in 2001 the second year of the awards together with a whole host of Food Excellence awards.Chris now finds herself the Managing Director of a much larger company even so, we cant stop her whenever she goes missing we know where to look shell be back at the shop making pies!Food Fads - Food Scares - Food NonsenseChristines view on the subject: The old adage everything in moderation still works.
