Never place the bread bag inside a plastic bag or an airtight bread container. It may be left unattended on the countertop or hung at any location throughout the kitchen (but not in direct sunlight). During the winter heating season, it works well in the pantry.
It might be preferable to lay the bag flat rather than hang it by the strings if the loaf of bread is huge. Similar rules apply when purchasing huge loaves of bread.
