OUR BUSINESSGeely is a fully integrated independent auto manufacturer with established operations running from research and development to production, sales and servicing. In 2008 Geely sold over 220, 000 cars of which more than 166, 000 were sold in China with the remainder exported to 55 countries across the globe. Geely cars are manufactured in six assembly and power-train manufacturing plants in China that are located in Lanzhou (Gansu province), Linhai (Zhejiang province), Luqiao (Zhejiang province), Ningbo (Zhejiang province), Shanghai and Xiangtan (Hunan province). Geely produces automobiles under five key brand groups: Geely, Maple, Gleagle, Emgrand and Englon. The firm also manufactures and develops engine platforms that include engine capacities from 1 litre to 1.8 litre, self-developed engines, automatic and manual transmissions including six speed drive by wire automatic transmissions and Euro 5 compliant engines. At the heart of the firm there are more than 12, 000 employees who work together to improve Geely€™s offering. These include more than 1, 600 engineers and technical personnel who work in Geely€™s research and development centres. Geely€™s commitment to its employees and its support of innovation have enabled its pioneering technologies, including China€™s first electronic power steering system, the Blow-Out Monitoring and Braking System (€œBMBS€), Energy Efficient Building Systems (€œEEBS€) and new fuel cars.Geely is supported by a network of more than 50 distributors in overseas markets, some of whom have assembled automobiles for the company since 2003. In addition, Geely sources components both domestically and internationally with many of its 650 suppliers supplying the firm from their operations elsewhere in the world.In the years ahead Geely aims to expand this global footprint with additional manufacturing facilities, dealer networks and customer support systems.
