The factory, now a limited company, was set up in 1929 by the founder Domenico De Lucia dead in 1987. It quickly became one of the leading export companies dealing with the processing of a varied selection of the most important agricultural products of the area around Naples, Italy, 200km south of Rome, the Capital. It has been transformed into an agri-industrial limited company since 1971 and it is now managed by the nephew of the founder, also called Domenico as the the grandfather. Today the company is divided into 4 separate, though complementary, departments: one dealingwith dried fruit and nuts; another with pre-cooked food; another with fresh potatoes; and the fourth with tobacco.
