Big manufacturers own the capability to move their production line into cheap cost area but small manufacturers keep losing competitive advantage on cost issues.The low cost competitors from China and other Asia countries strongly "attack" the U.S. and EU traditional small manufacturers in the last decade, made survival become a difficult issue to small companies. It is obvious that the slow-down economy had turn the firm buyers and consumers to pursuit "cheap and even cheaper" products instead of high quality ones, and this is the main problem of small and median-sized manufacturers faced today. Big manufacturers are capable of moving their production line to low labor cost areas such as China and other Far East countries, where they enjoy plenty of resources, unfortunately those small manufacturers, however, due to small business scale, they can't get government's attention and any help from any place. Neither have the ability to move abroad nor have the access to find an oversea contact. What's more, the US and Europe economies are facing formidable challenges in many ways, the rampant inflation, slow market growth and structural financial crisis and debt issues drive the market toward a highly uncertain future, and made it more and more difficult for those small manufacturers to survive.
