Koftagiri is a form of damascening or inlaying a light metal on a dark one, silver or gold wire ornaments a metal like iron or steel. The base metal is heated and hammered to flatten it a bit. It is then grooved to accommodate the design which will be fixed on it. Articles like dagger,knife,photoFrame,oil poet,Candle stand, paper Cutter,butter presser,Cutler knives,trays, spice bottles etc. are very attractively made.
