Headquartered in Sri Lanka, Multi Commodities Export (Pvt) Ltd, is one of the world’s top producers of Charcoal briquettes, with its manufacturing and research facilities in Northwestern Province, Puttalam. Multi Commodities Export (Pvt) Ltd is one of the few companies in local charcoal manufacturing to have obtained all the required approvals from the Sri Lanka Coconut Authority for manufacturing and for exporting charcoal related products. Multi Commodities Export (Pvt) Ltd is known as a firm with a reputation for integrity, quality service, and excellence in customer management. We have had early sales discussions with many international buyers in Bahrain and are hoping to reach out to other middle eastern countries in the near future. Going under the brand name of Shellco, our product line includes two types of charcoal, BBQ briquettes (BBQ balls and BBQ hexagons) with burn times of more than three plus hours. Multi Commodities Export (Pvt) Ltd was founded and conceptualized by Shirantha Niroshana Bokalawela and Vijita Thamel in January 2023. The Company experienced steady growth since then and was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in May 2023. (refer Articles of Incorporation). In January of 2024, Multi Commodities Export (Pvt) Ltd commenced manufacturing operations in their factory premises in Puttalam Sri Lanka. Puttalam being in the center of the coconut triangle gives Multi Commodities Export (Pvt) Ltd, an added advantage of easily finding high quality coconut charcoal powder at affordable prices which enables the company to provide the products at very competitive prices to the world market. There are two lines of production which can handle a daily production load of 10Mts. Our entire team comprises of 15 members who are natives of the area and are very experienced with coconut shells. Our main product is coconut charcoal briquettes which are to be used for Food Barbecuing purposes of the end user.
