UHMW-PE – Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene
PE 1000 - polyethylene
PE 1000 is a pure, unmixed ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) with a molecular weight of 4.4–9.2 million g/mol. Of the polyethylene plastics, it has the lowest coefficient of friction and the greatest impact strength, dimensional accuracy and wear‑resistance. This material is well suited to applications that require good wear resistance and low surface friction. We deliver PE 1000 as plastic sheets and rods.
It has the following properties:

Low specific weight 0.94g/cm3
Extremely high notch impact strength
High Pactene (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene)elasticity
Chemical resistance to most corrosive agents
Self lubricating
Unusually low abrasion guarantees long life
Water repellent
Favourable electrical properties permit many uses in the manufacture of electrical devices, especially high voltage and high frequency devices
No sticking or freezing to the surface
Physiologically harmless, as used in food industry
Stable to -260oC Used in cryogenics and freezing.
