is an ELISA reagent for detection PTEN (Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase and dual-specificity protein phosphatase PTEN) in Human serum, plasma or cell with sensitivity, specificity and consistency.
Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) is a phosphatase, in humans, is
encoded by the PTEN gene. Mutations of this gene are a step in the
development of many cancers, specifically glioblastoma, lung cancer, breast
cancer, and prostate cancer. Genes corresponding to PTEN (orthologs)
have been identified in most mammals for which complete genome data are
available.
PTEN acts as a tumor suppressor gene through the action of its phosphatase
protein product. This phosphatase is involved in the regulation of the cell cycle,
preventing cells from growing and dividing too rapidly.[8] It is a target of many
anticancer drugs.
This kit uses sandwich ELISA to detect the concentration of
PTEN
(Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase and dual-specificity
protein phosphatase PTEN). The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been
pre-coated
with
an
antibody
specific
to
PTEN
(Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase and dual-specificity
protein phosphatase PTEN). Standards or samples are added to the
appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody
specific to PTEN (Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase and
dual-specificity protein phosphatase PTEN). Next, Avidin conjugated to
Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated.
After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain PTEN(Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase and dual-specificity
protein
phosphatase
PTEN),
biotin-conjugated
antibody
and
enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate
reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color
change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm.
The concentration of
PTEN (Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate
3-phosphatase and dual-specificity protein phosphatase PTEN) in the samples
is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
