It had become well proven that the depthness of detail and story behind each piece done by handicraft, was a value adder to the end-consumer. With modern production methods 100% handmade jewelry could now be produced at large volumes and prices competitive to otherwise machine produced items.Jostein Haugum founded the company as a result of multiple long trips to Bali, Java and Indonesia in general. What he wanted to empower was the combination of highly skilled artisans and favorable high production conditions in Indonesia. Shortly after Manik Widuri was included as partner and CEO to further power the expansion of the company.The company started out with primarily Balinese styles often purchased by the Tourists & Gifts industry and later developed into both brand infused promotional items and fashion jewelry inspired by western culture and trends.Today SUSILA empowers more than 200 artisans in the production of beautiful handicraft jewelry and supplies customers in 37 countries. 70% of our artisans are woman and they include 3 different religions.Over the last 6 years the company has grow to be an extremely sought after jewelry manufacturer and wholesaler.
