Good day,We are searching for an alternative to our plastic media we use in our vertical hydroponic systems and are considering all natural fibres. This will be a new product to market and the media is one of the final components we need to confirm. We are currently using reticulated polyester, but want to move away from plastic for growing media. Would it be possible to receive a test sample to see if we can make sisal work for this purpose. Obviously I can not commit to quantities before we have tested the fibres for use in hydroponic system. Fibres would need to be resistant to continuous water flow and nutrient rich solution in water.Ideally we need the fibre in a matted sponge-like format (but not too dense as to allow for root growth and oxygen and water flow). I can send images of our current growing media if that will assist. We are also looking at coconut fibres and found a manufacturer in India that makes a product that could work for us. Naturally we would prefer to use locally sourced fibres, so I really hope the sisal is an option. Please let us know if you can assist.Kind regardsPierreEVERGREEN URBAN FARM
