DressingsDressings must be either fully transparent or alternatively of a non-woven material with a transparent polyurethane film to allow observation of the insertion site.In addition the dressing must have the following characteristics:-•Ported, sterile and individually packed•Allow easy monitoring of insertion site•Rounded edges to prevent roll up; dressing must not lift at the edges for the duration of in-vivo use of at least 4 days•Hypoallergenic with non-latex adhesive•Adherent over the entire dressing surface•Moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR) greater than 1000 g/m 2/24hr at 37 deg C as tested according to EN 13726-2. Certificates of analysis from ISO accredited laboratories must be provided to substantiate these claims.•If the dressing is totally transparent, it should incorporate a label where the healthcare worker can write the date of insertion with ballpoint ink.
