Hi team at Shark Bay Balsa. Firstly, with the grace of god, you and all your families are well after the recent tragedy of the earthquake. My name is David and I live in Newcastle NSW Australia.I have just purchased a 5 stringer approximately 106 balsa surfboard from a man called Shane Spencer who says he imported it and others from Shark Bay Balsa of Ecuador in October 2007. I was supplied a Mario Garcia Elias signed copy of the Certificate of Kiln Dried dated 16 October 2007 for these blanks but there is no sizes mentioned on the certificate. Unfortunately I only have the last page of an invoice (Quoted validity date: August 23, 2007) which is missing information with respect to my specific board. I was hoping to get definite confirmation that my board was indeed constructed and supplied by Shark Bay Balsa and any other details of this particular board. The board has been glassed in Australia and there is a Mike Minchinton model logo on the bottom of the board and there is a SANTA CRUZ Ecuador Balsa Surfboard logo on the deck. The board is very beautiful and is proudly displayed on the wall in my home. I contacted Mike Minchinton through Robert August surfboards recently and he says that the board looks like it was shaped by him and reading Mikes web page www.hbshaper.com he says that he has been shaping Balsa surfboards at Shark Bay Balsa. I need to purchase a fin for this board and I was also hoping to get an original Shark Bay Balsa glassed/timber design e.g. 10 Red Cedar Rising Sun to suit a traditional fin box. With respect can you please send me any information pertaining to my surfboard e.g. construction methods, shaper etc. also pictures of fins manufactured by your company so that I can select one.P.s. I have many friends here in Australia who are very impressed with my new board. Can you please tell me what the cost would be to manufacture and ship a similar item e.g. (3 stringer in Volan glass) to Newcastle Australia. Kind regardsDavid J Pryke *******@*****.com
