Import Procedure(CIF Basis)(Buyer holds investments in many Importing Companies in Overseas Countries including India and can import your products to any country in the world)Step 1 – Seller quotes CIF rate of the product to the BuyerStep 2 – Buyer, if satisfied, emails LOI (Letter of Intent) to SellerStep 3 – Seller accepts LOI and emails SCO (Soft Corporate Offer) or FCO (Full Corporate Offer) as the case may be, along with the Specifications to the Buyer.Step 4 – Buyer accepts SCO/ FCO and sends ICPO (Irrevocable Corporate Purchase Order) in favour of Seller and a Draft Purchase Contract.Step 5 - Seller accepts ICPO and e-mails acceptance of ICPO along with electronically signed Contract.Step 6 - Buyer accepts and returns Purchase Contract electronically signed & stamped, by emailStep 7 – Buyer Visits Seller Buyer visits Sellers Refinery / Factory / Farm for inspection, discussion and signing of Hard copies of the Contract. Please note that for the above visit, the Seller will bear the expenses like Airfare, Hotel, Miscellaneous expenses etc. initially for the Buyer and Seller can reimburse these expenses from Buyer by adding the same to the first Commercial Invoice amount (Eventually these expenses will come to the account of the Buyer only).Step 8 – Seller opens a Performance Bond (PB) of 3% of CIF value in favour of Buyer (Alternatively a Refundable Deposit equivalent only to the DLC Bank charges accepted in lieu of PB).Step 9 - Buyer opens irrevocable and confirmed Documentary Letter of Credit (DLC) equivalent to CIF value payable at Sight to the Seller against Original Shipping Documents through bank to bank. Step 10 - Seller ships the goods to Buyer on CIF basis.Step 11 - Seller Bank sends by DHL the Original Bill of Lading, Insurance Policy and other Shipping Documents to Buyer BankStep 12 – On arrival of containers, Buyer Bank transfers the proceeds of the DLC to Seller Bank and allows Buyer to take delivery from Port of Discharge.(Transaction completed. This Procedure can be repeated for each monthly delivery throughout the Contract period)
