RFQ Description

September 13, 2012 Franklin Monroe Elementary is a small, rural school in Darke County, OH. Our kindergarten through grade six building serves 415 students. Although we are very proud of the quality of our teaching staff, our wonderful students, and our supportive parents, the gains that we made were because of specific programming innovations to meet the needs of our students. These innovative programs were supported through grant monies that are no longer available. Our concern is that our students will be harmed if we can no longer provide those services. We contracted with licensed professional clinical counselors to provide support services to our students. Trauma that children have experienced outside of school impacts their school day. For this reason, we provide them with an outlet and a level of comfort in knowing that they are cared for as individuals and that we are here to help them. We have children who have experienced domestic violence, the loss of a parent or sibling, or absent parents. Some have been victimized through a caregiver„s substance abuse or been embroiled in ongoing, combative custody disputes. In addition, all our students have benefited from programming such as an artist-in-residence, Family Night, and Book Clubs. Because we are committed to maintaining our high performance, we are seeking to maintain funding for our initiatives. For this reason, I am asking for your help. We are creating “Baskets for Education. These themed baskets will be auctioned on November 9, 2012. We are requesting any items as donations for this cause.Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about our school.~ You would get exposure for your company in several ways.~ First your name and donation will appear in two county newspapers, our school newsletter, the auctioneers sale bill (distributed through 3 counties), and if you send business cards or catalogs we will set them by your item at the auction, then parents who are outbid and want to go to your website to order for themselves.~ We have an area on our website (www.fmelementary.com) where we can put pictures of donations with a direct link to the contributor„s site.~ Our website is visited by parents, grandparents, and friends from all over.~ If you have any more questions, please ask!
