DEAR SIR, WE RECEIVED A DECLARATION OF INTENT FROM A BUYER IN NIGERIA TO IMPORT THAI RICE PARBOILED 5 PCT BROKEN LONG GRAIN. THE BUYER REQUESTS SUPPLY OF ONE VESSEL LOAD OF 12, 500 MT PER MONTH FOR 12 MONTHS FOR COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES, CHURCHES , HOSPITALS, AND VOLUNTARY AGENCIES TO HELP THE PEOPLE. THEIR COMMUNICATION TELLS US: The voluntary agencies, in consideration of their social responsibilities to the society, request this agency to source for and procure rice product for their supply programmes. The procurement of product must come from Rice Farmers/Millers, in order to obtain reasonable price and flexible terms of payment, for their products and buying programme. Details and payment terms are as follows; (1) Origin/Source of Rice- Thailand (2) Specification of Rice- 5% broken and 100% sortexed (3) Packing- Poly 50kg Bags (4) Price per metric ton (pmt) CIF and Nigerian sea port eg. Lagos, Portharcourt, Calabar (5) Payment Terms- Document against Acceptance, with statutory/regulatory Central Bank of Nigeria Form, registered with bank of buyer 60days after receipt of Bill of Lading (BL) etc, for payment. OR unconfirmed Letter of Credit (L/C)/ B /G lodged with Bank of Buyer, subject to confirmation, also with Form or payment 60days after receipt of BL etc. SPA- Sales and Purchase Agreement between seller and buyer shall be endorsed, incorporating non-circumvention, non-disclosure clauses etc, relevant to terms of payment on transaction. This purchase programme is for long term trading between seller and buyer, on acceptance of terms of payment that would be satisfactory to voluntary agencies for their social responsibilities. Please be advised, that payment terms indicated therein, if not adhered to by Buyer is punishable offence in Nigeria under this transaction, statutorily put in place by CBN.
