I require dimmable coolwhite or neutralwhite, lowvoltage LED lamps for indoor residential use, similar in size (2 inch 50 mm diameter) and shape to to MR16 lamps. At least 300 lumens flux is needed per lamp. I would prefer the lamps to be powered by a separate 12 volt constantcurrent source, so that groups of three lamps, connected in series, can be dimmed together. Ideally the lamps would be based on the new Cree XPG LED.The constantcurrent source (up to 1.5 amps at a nominal 12 volts) must be operable either from the 230V 50 Hz AC mains, or from a 13.2 V DC supply. The requirement is for highefficiency domestic lighting which normally operates on a 230 V 50Hz supply through a transformer and rectifier in the ordinary way but which can rapidly be switched over to a 13.2 volt leadacid accumulator backup system if power is interrupted. We have a contract to equip one new house (shortly to be built) in this manner but we anticipate considerable later demand for such products, in view of the local electricity utility being unable to meet peakhour demand for electricity in winter. The requirement is for 50 lamps in the first instance. led, cree, indoor lighting 12volt indoor lighting based on CREE LEDs
