RFQ Description

As a banana producing company in Laos we like to know if you already are producing bags of none woven fabric for protecting bananas in the field, or if you can produce it?We will need bags approximately 80 cm x 173 cm (open in the two ends measuring 80 cm), or it can be delivered in a role 80 cm wide for us to cut in desired length.Specifications for the bags:Be able to protect the bananas against insects by forming a barrier they can„t penetrate.Be able to withstand the weather conditions in the field for 4 monthProtect the bananas against direct sunlight.Be able to protect the bananas against scratches from leafs by forming a soft protective layer around the bunch.Allow airflow in and out through the fabric.Avoid the forming of condense inside the bag. I have attached a photo of a non woven fabric bag in the field.Normally we use plastic bags for protecting the banana bunches in the field, but trials with non woven fabric bags works well. The bag you can see on the photo is made out of a material which has a weight of 17 gram/m2, and feels soft (it does not scratch the banana peel when the bag flutters in the wind). The bag is open in both ends. We tie the bag with a knot in the bottom to avoid insects to enter, but need to be able to open it for deflowering of the bunch. It can either be a bag to be used one time, or a stronger bag to be used several times. In order to make sure the bags can withstand the sunshine it might be needed with a treatment to protect against the UV rays. Our company in Laos is using more than 300.000 bags per year, but is part of a group growing bananas in many different countries. In case the trial in Laos become a success then our group might be interested in using more than 3.600.000 bags worldwide per year. Please come with your suggestion for a suitable and economic bag.As a trial order please make a quotation for 10.000 bags. Please give an indication how the price can go down with increased order volumes.I like you to give a Cost Included Freight price with delivery in Vientiane (the capital of Laos PDR). I prefer the to get the bags in bundles of 500 or 1000 pieces, but you can do what is most economic in relation to transport (one big or several small packages).Best regards,Ole Bech
