近年来，我国体育产业快速发展。《关于加快发展体育产业促进体育消费的若干意见》（国发〔2014〕46号）中关于发展目标予以明确：到2025年，基本建立布局合理、功能完善、门类齐全的体育产业体系，体育产品和服务更加丰富，市场机制不断完善，消费需求愈加旺盛，对其他产业带动作用明显提升，体育产业总规模超过5万亿元，成为推动经济社会持续发展的重要力量。2016年6月，国家体育总局印发《体育产业发展“十三五”规划》，提出“十三五”期间，初步构建结构合理、布局均衡、功能完善、门类齐全的体育产业体系，基本形成各种经济成份竞相参与、共同兴办体育产业的发展格局。体育供给更加丰富，体育消费不断扩大，体育产业保持快速增长，成为推动经济社会持续发展的重要力量。2016年我国体育产业总规模为1.9万亿元。我国体育产业拥有巨大发展空间，即将迎来重大突破。
