Plough is an important agricultural equipment that was implemented in the agricultural fields to turn and break the soil, bury the crop residues, and control weeds. A plough is commonly used in farming to lose or turn the soil before planting or sowing seeds. Ploughing machines were first drawn by horses and oxen. However, tractors have ploughing machines built today. It may contain an iron, wooden, or steel frame along with a blade in order to lose or cut the soil. The most important purpose of using a ploughing machine is to turn the uppermost soil while refreshing the nutrients on the surface and burying crops and weeds remains to decay. Basically, a plough comprises a steel and iron frame with a blade, which is attached and functions to cut and loose the soil. Similarly, ploughing is the method to cut and loose or turn the soil in order to sow or plant the seeds. It intentionally performs to cut down horizontal clods from the soil. It helps in loosening the solid while making the transportation of air and water through soil easier. Also, it helps the roots to penetrate the solid, which in turn supports respiration in the air. It enters the soil easily through this method.
It allows the growth of friendly earthworms and microorganisms.

Disc plough, mould board plough, soil stirring plough, tool frames/carriers with mouldboard plough or tillage sweeps, ridger plough, etc. are some of the improved tools that are used in ploughing in order to break the soil. These tools are highly efficient in breaking the soil and inverting the furrow slices to control weeds and more.
The penetration in shallow ploughing is almost 14.-28 cm as compared to the deep ploughing. When mechanical soil loading intensity increases, the bulk density increases while air capacity reduces to 10-15 cm soil layer. Hence, it doesn’t affect penetration resistance.
