A Styrene Type Polymer For Buckram Details
Simacryl EPS-02 is recommended in particular for the production of toe puff fabrics for shoes and boots, because it yields a coherent film only at high temperatures. The textile material impregnated with Simacryl EPS-02 is still soft and flexible after drying at 100-140 °C .The toe puffs punched out of this material have to be treated with a suitable solvent, eg. Acetone, ethyl acetate, methylene chloride, toluene, or xylene. The solvent swells the polymer particles to such degree that they form a coherent film on evaporation of the solvent.
