NOTICE:
Wear condition of drawing die. Due to the vibration of wire rod, some slight circular wear first occurs in the area contacting the wire rod in the compression zone of the drawing die, and then expands continuously until the sizing zone, resulting in a serious decline in the surface quality of wire rod and an enlargement of wire rod size. Moreover, severe wear will cause transverse cracks (mainly in the process of soft wire drawing) or longitudinal cracks (mainly in the process of hard wire drawing), leading to premature scrapping of the die.
Therefore, in view of the types of wires being drawn and the characteristics of wire drawing, it is necessary to scientifically formulate maintenance standards for wire drawing dies. In general, slight ring wear can be restored to use only after polishing, or slightly enlarged diameter can meet the requirements of wire drawing. Excessive wear and tear will greatly reduce the number of die repairs, or even scrap, and increase the cost of wire drawing.
