Diesel Generator Unit Model PerkinsGeneral Standby Power supply diesel generating plants shall be erected in the generator buildings located at each booster pump site. The requirements shall include for the manufacture, supply and complete installation of all materials, equipment, plant and components necessary for the provision of fully operational and functioning standby diesel plant, associated switchgear and services.The Contractor shall supply and install an insulated diesel generator unit to be automatically operated in case of electricity failure.The diesel plant and equipment shall include: Diesel generating set exhaust pipe work Fuel tanks and pipe work Manual Changeover panels Switchgear Cables Earthing All accessories and other necessary items The diesel plant, shall be continuously rated and of a type suitable for continuous operation: Each set shall be rated for the pump and auxiliary duties specified together with all starting current, surges and the like, due allowance being made for the altitude and climate conditions specified.
