Company Description
Binbir Gıda is the exclusive producer of sea salt in Türkiye. There are only two sea salterns in the country — İzmir Çamaltı and Balıkesir Ayvalık — and both are owned and operated by our company. These salterns are located on the Aegean Sea coast, with İzmir Çamaltı being one of the largest sea salterns in the world. As Binbir Gıda, we have an annual production capacity of 1,000,000 tons of raw sea salt and 400,000 tons of washed sea salt. Our products are of high quality, featuring a high mineral content and coarse grain ratio. We use entirely natural methods, such as evaporation through wind and sun, with no chemical processing or additives involved. The crystallization of our salt is complete, and the amount of foreign impurities is significantly lower than in competing products. As a result, our salt has a purity level exceeding 99%, making it highly suitable for both industrial and food-grade applications. Furthermore, due to its high magnesium content, our salt has a lower freezing point, which increases its efficiency in de-icing and road maintenance operations.
